“Bachpan Save the Innocence” is a youth organization and they reduce child victims and started by Mr. Rahul Singla, with a vision to make a world of hope where everyone in the nation is sensitized on various aspects of body safety education and child rights, ensuring that all of us can raise voice against child sexual assault.
In our country, we always compare every child with a God. We always see their beauty, innocence, and cuteness. But what we are ignoring is the dark truth of humanity and the problems they are suffering or had faced in their childhood. We never going to know who’s snatching the beauty of childhood. According to the data given by UNICEF, In one-third of countries, at least 5% of young women reported their horrible experiences of sexual assault during their childhood. As we all know, these things happen due to less awareness and lack of knowledge about sex education.

Mr. Rahul Singla, is a 23 years old man, a kind soul from Panchkula, Haryana, and currently working in an IT firm, has taken the initiative named “Bachpan Save The Innocence” to raise a voice against child sexual assault, spread awareness, and also provide a safe platform or place where anyone is entitled to share their experience of child sexual abuse. He shared with us the beautiful meaning behind this name when he was thinking of the names for this initiative and the word ‘Bachpan Save the Innocence’ came to his mind, meaning childhood and ‘Bachpan’ for him is an emotion and his happy place.
Three years ago, when a rape case took place in Kathua, which shuddered him from the inside. It was difficult for him to imagine a child getting sexually abused multiple times in a temple. He was 20 at that time, and it hurt him deeply to learn about the incident. Back then, He was working on child begging eradication in Patiala, Punjab, and it distressed him to notice the increasing number of rape cases in our country. He called his friends; they discussed it at length for hours because they were so helpless at that time. The three of them decided to work on this cause instead of just staying indifferent to what was happening around us. Finally, all three of them formed a team and started with our first session on safe/unsafe touch in a school. Initially, when they started researching these issues, they were shocked to find out the official figures. Things were going well until August 2019, when his team turned against him, and internal issues started happening.
In January 2020, he was forced to leave the place for which he had been working for so long. Finally, he had to leave the campaign. He was devastated and returned home. Last year in January, He talked to his friends Madhav and Bhumika and discussed what all happened with him. All he knew was that He had to start and build a similar platform once again. Then immediately after this incident, he got the idea of starting this initiative, and without wasting any time he started this initiative.
Now, they are a happy team of more than 40 people from different colleges and different regions. They have developed 11 programs for sensitization and sensitized more than 3500 individuals through 72+ workshops. They also have an anonymous support group for child sexual abuse survivors to provide them a safe place to share their experiences and emotions. Right now, they’re spreading awareness on social media platforms through storytelling, spreading awareness, and conducting many educational sessions for the children as well as for the parents.
He shared with us that, “ His daily motivation is, sticking to the vision of the organization and the empathy for the children. When they are educating children to help them understand body safety, they reduce child victims and reduce abusers. He also shared his favorite memory from this journey is that “When he gave his first workshop in a government school, the smile on the faces of children was his very happy and special moment”.

A special message from “Bachpan Save the Innocence”
“ If a child is sexually assaulted, it is the abuser’s mistake but if a child does not disclose it, it is society’s mistake. And we at Bachpan, are working to change both of these”.

Great one👌🏻
